Abstract:
This Research describes an analysis of the contextual meaning of compound
words and Analysis on Cooking Terms and Culinary Terms of MasterChef U.K and
MasterChef Indonesia.
The object of this study is the dialogue and prologue which
contained on the episodes of MasterChef U.K and MasterChef Indonesia. The
researcher approach the theory of Rochele lieber, O’Grady, and Ingo Plag on
Analysis the tree of word which the compound words formed and also approach the
semantic field on analysis the contextual meaning of compound words term used on
the program.
The problem of this research is divided into three questions 1. How are
the compound words forming process of cooking terms and culinary terms in the
MasterChef U.K. Season 12 and MasterChef Indonesia Season 4? 2. What are the types and meaning of compound words that occur to the cooking terms and culinary
terms in the MasterChef U.K. and MasterChef Indonesia? And 3. How the contextual
meaning of compound words that used in Masterchef U.K and MasterChef
Indonesia? This research was employed qualitative research and descriptive method,
also approach Purposive Random Sampling on analyzed the data. The purposes of this research were To find out the process of compound words in cooking terms and
culinary terms formed, To find out the meaning and the types of the terms of
compound words also contextual meaning of compound words of the cooking terms and culinary terms, also the used method that occur in the MasterChef U.K. and MasterChef Indonesia.
