dc.description.abstract The present study entitled The Analysis of Vogler’s Stages of Hero’s Journey in the Animated Film Wreck-It Ralphaims to investigate the correlation of Vogler’s Hero’s Journey stages with the plot of the film, and to know how the language of film can affect the construction of the hero in the animated film that directed by Rich Moore. The study employs a descriptive qualitative study with textual analysis. The present study adopted Vogler’s (2007) Hero’s Journey stages as its major theoretical framework and the language of film theory of Heintz and Stracey (2006). The study focused on three main characters in the film, Ralph, Vanellope, and King Candy, as they are the causality agents of the narrative. The limitation of the research is the stages of hero’s journey passed by the heroes in the film. The research shows that the stages of hero’s journey correlated with the plot of the film by describing the sequence of events the heroes experienced in the film. The research also shows that some features of language of film is affecting the hero construction in the Wreck-It Ralph film. The uses of language of film is support the delivery of filmmaker’s messages to the audience, and to connect and relate the audience with the heroes in the film. en_US
