dc.description This research explores the language ability difference between seven years old boys and girls. English vocabulary mastery and the amount of English vocabulary become the main issue of this research since there is no any standardization to measure the English vocabulary mastery of Indonesian children in Indonesia. Using mixed method study and descriptive method to analyze the obtained data, the result shows that female is better than male in English vocabulary mastery considering several findings: first, the average amount of female participants is more than the average amount of male participants with 7.09% difference; second, the participant having the highest amount of English vocabulary mastery is female; and third, female participant having the lowest amount of English vocabulary mastery among the whole female participants still has a higher amount than male participant having the lowest amount of English vocabulary mastery among the whole male participants. Based on the research, the English vocabularies mastered by participants are in the range of 350-377 words. Later on, the researcher makes a categorization of English vocabulary mastery mastered by seven years old students. The categorization consists of three categories; poor, good, and very good. Poor is a category for seven years old student mastering English vocabulary mastery in the stretch of 100-349 words; good is a category for seven years old student mastering English vocabulary mastery in the stretch of 350-377 words; and very good is a category for seven years old student mastering English vocabulary mastery in the stretch of 377-570 words. en_US
